The third largest country in the world, and the most populous, not to mention the amount of tourists that visit each year due to cheap travel and the amazing culture, China is today something of an enigma: it has an increasingly capitalistic economy but with an old-style Communist Party Leadership remaining in political control. Much depends on how successfully this 'socialist market economy' works. However the Chinese will remain an ever increasing economic force as they produce almost everything. When you have most of the worlds good's being produced by one country the balance of trade will be a constant bone of contention with the western powers. The joke 'That God made the world in seven day's but... everything else is made in China is ironically true!!

Hong Kong is really just one big shopping center - so basically shop to you drop!
