Formed 1 Nov 1941 in Garz(?) as Versuchsstaffel 293 with 4 He 111H, to test the new Hs 293 missile.

On 1 Mar 1942 became Lehr & Erprobungskommando 15.

The first Do 217 was delivered Nov 1942, and by 10 Nov 1942 the unit had: 10 He 111H-12, 2 He 111P-4 and 14 Do 217E-5.

Disbanded Apr 1943, and was absorbed by II./KG100.
