Formed Jan 1940 in Braunschweig-Waggum as Segelflugschule der Luftwaffe, with 8 Ju 52 and 20 DFS.230. In Sep 1940 moved to Neuhausen, and was renamed Fliegerschule der Luftwaffe (S) 1.

In Apr 1942 renamed Ergänzungsgruppe (S) 1 with:

In Jan 1943 part of the Gruppe was used to form IV./LLG1, but IV./LLG1 was disbanded Apr 1943, and the remnants returned to the Gruppe.

Disbanded 9 Sep 1944.
