Flughafenbetriebskompanien
Overview:
The Flughafenbetriebskompanie´s (FBK) primary duty was repair and service for all the aircraft of a specific unit. The FBK belonged to the various Gruppen of the heavier units, incl. Kampfgeschwader, Sturzkampfgeschwader, Zerstorergeschwader, and various reconnaissance and transport units.
Normally fully motorised, consisted of 150 men, and was divided into 4 platoons (züge) - 3 Betriebszüge and 1 Werkstattzug, and would normally follow the Gruppe around to the various bases.
Initially most Gruppen had 2 FBK 's, but this was changed to one each, after Jan 1943.

Formed May 1939 in Wiener-Neustadt. On 10 Jan 1943 redesignated 4.FBK-KG76.
Reformed 10 Jan 1943 in Gerbini from 7.FBK-KG51.
Served with I./KG76 (May 1939 - Jan 1943) and II./KG76 (Jan 1943 - May 1945)

Formed 10 Jan 1943 in Tympakion/Crete from 10.FBK-KG76.
Served with III./KG76 (Jan 1943 - May 1945)
4. Flughafenbetriebskompanie KG76
Formed Jan 1940 in Wels. On 9 Jul 1940 redesignated 7.FBK-St.G.77
Reformed 9 Jul 1940 in Creil from 3.FBK-KG28. In Dec 1941 redesignated 7.FBK-KG26(?)
Reformed 10 Jan 1943 in Toulouse-Francazals from 2.FBK-KG76. Disbanded Dec 1944.
Served with II./KG76 (Jan 1940 - Dec 1941) and IV./KG76 (Jan 1943 - Dec 1944)
