Formed 1 Apr 1939 in Straubing as Schule/FAR.53 (from parts of FFS E (A/B) Lachen-Speyersdorf), and was attached to Flieger-Ausbildungs-Regiment 53.

Gave up some aircraft and personnel to Flugzeugführerschule A/B 5 (FFS A/B 5) during 1940.

On 18 Mar 1941 redesignated Flugzeugführerschule A/B 122 (FFS A/B 122).

Used the following aircraft: Ar 68, Ar 96, Bu 131, Fw 44, Fw 58, Go 145 and He 72
