Formed 1 Jul 1935 in Ludwigslust as FFS Ludwigslust, from Fliegerübungsstelle Cottbus (formed 1 Feb 1934).
On 1 Oct 1936 renamed FFS C Ludwigslust, and on 2 Sep 1939 FFS C Neubrandenburg.
On 16 Jan 1940 redesignated Flugzeugführerschule C 5 (FFS C 5).
On 15 Oct 1943 redesignated Flugzeugführerschule B 5.
Pilot training ended Jul 1944. Disbanded 4 Feb 1945. Remnants were later attached to the 233. Reserve-Panzer-Division.
Used the following aircraft: Ar 96, Bf 110, C.445, Do 17, Do 23, Do 217, Fi 156, Fw 58, He 111, He 177, Ju 52, Ju 86, Ju 88, Si 204 and W.34
