Formed Jun 1944 at Amiens. While forming, the regiment (with a new Stab from Stab II./FJR.5) was flown to Stendal, and later (Jul 1944) flown to Vilna in Lithuania, and operated in Kampgruppe Oberst Schirmer:

• Aug 1944, Pz.AOK.3 - Vilna
• Sep 1944, XXVI.AK / AOK.4 - Memel, Gumbinnen

On 24 Sep 1944 the regiment became Fallschirm-Grenadier-Regiment 3 Hermann Göring. Reformed 15 Oct 1944 in Holland.
