Photo description: First Tactical Air Force Martin B-26 Marauders pass beside an explosive column of smoke rising almost 10,000 feet above a German ammunition and suspected V-2 storage site which they attacked at Siegelsbach, 18 miles southeast of Heidelberg. Many fires and explosions, one of which left a crater 130 feet in diameter, destroyed numerous buildings in the area; and returned airmen reported debris from the explosions peppered their medium bombers and concuslon rocked their planes as they passed over the target during the attack.(U.S. Air Force Number 56550AC)
