Lt. Col. Glenn Grau, the squadron C. O., named this aircraft Los Lobos Grande III. It was still referred to as "Grau's ship" long after Col. Grau returned to the U.S. Used as a lead aircraft, it was equipped with the secret navigational GEE box and bombsight mount. It sported a larger and fiercer looking wolf's head than the one on the first Los Lobos Grande. Los Lobos Grande III survived the war.
