The First Staffel Ergnzungs-Zerstörergruppe (1./Erg.Zerst.Gr.) was formed from Erg.Staffel /ZG 1. It was responsible for the preparation of crews destined to fly the Bf 110 on the Eastern Front. In its service were several versions of the machine. Its aircraft carried recognition markings composed of yellow areas including the fuselage band, and the bottom of the engine cowls. The nose was adorned with a large wolf's head. At the beginning of 1943, the purpose of the unit had been changed to operational training of ground-attack pilots under the designation Ergnzungsschlachtgruppe. The nose emblem continued to be used, and the unit now flew theMe210, Hs 123, Hs 129, and theFw190, among others.
