Hptm Horst Geyer (right) adjusts his life jacket in readiness for a mission out of Achmer in the summer of 1943. In the ceneter of the photo is Lt Willi Sbressny who was killed in action over Wangerooge on Jun 22 1943. Note the aircraft is carrying the 21cm mortar tubes. This machine a Fw 190A-5 Werk Nr 181729 was later lost in action over Oventrop on Nov 30th 1943 whilst being flown by another Ekdo 25 pilot Uffz. Walter Topp

His 3rd, a Spitfire SW of LeTouquet on 16 April, 1941. Nos.4 & 5, both Spitfires off Hafen-Dover, 8 May, 1941. His first known Soviet victory, an I-16 on 11 August, 1941. A B-17 45 km N of Nordeney on 25 June, 1943. A B-17 at Hamburg on 25 July, 1943. Two more B-17's on 28 July, 1943, one at Meppen and the other at Lathen. Another B-17 at Buzancy-Vouziers on 28 July, 1943. A B-17 S of Verden on 8 October, 1943. A Mosquito 'AN-6' 20 km N of Nancy on 6 November, 1943. A B-17 on 26 November, 1943, while still in Epr Kdo 25.Served as Kdr III/EJG-2 in November 1944, flying the Me 262. Deceased 8 November, 1996.
