Focke-Wulf Fw 200C1 Condor Sktz BSAG WNr.0002 Bremen 1940 01

Photo 01: This pristine early production Focke-Wulf Fw 200C-1 Condor, BS+AG WNr.0002 was rolled out on a winter's day at the Focke-Wulf factory at Bremen in early 1940. It was built as the VII and subsequently became the first B-I. It was later converted to become the first C-1 and was taken on by l./KG 40 on 19 February 1940. Its subsequent fate is unknown.

Photo's 01-02: Focke-Wulf Fw 200 Condor C-1, WNr.0005 Sktz BS+AJ was built in 1940 but survived only a few weeks before being destroyed during experiments at the ErprobungsstelleTarnewitz on 21 March that year. The C-1 featured a faired, fixed upper streamlined, blister which was to be the second of a number of progressive design changes for this defensive position.

Profile 00: Focke-Wulf Fw 200C-8/U10 Condor, WNr. 0259, factory coded TO+XD. The C-8 was the last production model and was intended specifically for the launching of Hs 293A missiles. Notable features of this aircraft are the deepened outboard engine nacelles (for carrying Hs 293s) and a forwarded, extended ventral gondola. Note the FuG 200 Hohentwiel ship search radar. Focke-Wulf Fw 200C-8 Condor W.Nr 0248 with factory code Sktz TO+XD which was later changed to F8+IR. The aircraft was finished in the standard upper maritime colors of 72 and 73. This aircraft was later lost in the Atlantic on December 29 1943 under the command of Hptm. Georg Schabert.
