USN Fighting Squadron VF-20 Jokers
Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat VF-20 White 71 Lt. Leo Bob McCuddin CV-6 USS Enterprise October 1944
Famous Navy pilot Lt. Leo Bob McCuddin flew this Hellcat on many of his combat sorties whilst with VF-20 aboard the USS Enterprise. From April 1944 all five of his kills were gained during this tour. He participated in the attack of the 'Fuso' class Ba and the sinking of an escorting destroyer during the Battle of the Philippine Sea on Oct 24th and 26th 1944. Note This aircraft has been documented carrying rockets but are not depicted in this drawing.

Na zobrazeném stroji absolvoval mnoho svých bojových letù i Leo Bob McCuddin. Od dubna 1944 sloužil na strojích F6F Hellcat v øadách VF-20 na palubì USS Enterprise.U této jednotky dosáhl pìti vzdušných vítìzství. Kromì sestøelù letadel se podílel i na poškození bitevní lodì tøídy "Fuso" a potopení doprovodného torpédoborce bìhem druhé bitvy ve Filipínském moøi 24. a 25. øíjna 1944. Poznámka: stroj je dokumentován i se závìsníky raket (nejsou kresleny).
